Do you want to book an appointment when we're closed?

Or let us know about your change of address?

EMIS Access is a new way of ordering prescriptions, booking routine appointments with the doctor, the phlebotomist (for blood samples) or the dispensary manager for reviews of the use of medicines (DRUMs).

It can also be used to let us know if you change your address or other contact details.

All you need to do is to come into the surgery reception with a form of identification and the receptionist will be able to register you and issue a PIN and password to use our online service. Once you've registered with the website you're away!

It may seem unnecessary to have identification when we probably know you well but the system belongs to our clinical supplier and they have strict rules about its use.

ELECTRONIC RECORDS' VIEWER

We ran a trial of the EMIS Access Electronic Records' Viewer from June to December 2010. The results of the survey that was carried out afterwards are available, together with the queries and comments, by clicking here.

The response that we had was very positive and so we have decided, after discussion with our Patients' Group, to open the facility to the rest of our patients. In anticipation of the interest and demand for this, we will be contacting patients in manageable numbers to invite them to participate. If you have a pressing need to use this facility but have not been contacted yet, please email us on cropredy.surgery@nhs.net and we will do our best to help.

We will issue information about the system when we contact our patients but you can see the information leaflet, consent form and log-in information with a glossary of terms here.

Parents, guardians or carers are able to operate EMIS Access on behalf of their children up to the age of 16 years. The introduction of the additional access to electronic records, means that we will be reducing that age limit so that children of 14 years and over will be able to operate the system themselves provided that the doctor assesses that they are competent to do so. Those patients who are currently operating the system on behalf of their children may continue until the child reaches 14 years old when the access will be switched off. We will contact patients who are affected by this change.

The Royal College of General Practitioners has published guidance on accessing electronic records Enabling Patients to Access Electronic Health Records  which we have followed in devising the system in use here at Cropredy Surgery.
