Clinics and Services
Practice Nurses
- Our nurses run clinics morning and afternoon. They
carry out blood pressure measurement, immunisations
for children and travel, ear syringing, dressings
and a host of other services. The Receptionist will
provide details if required.
Phlebotomist
- The Phlebotomist takes routine blood samples for
testing and does blood pressure measurements at the
Phlebotomy clinic on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
mornings.
The samples are sent to the hospital laboratory at
12.30 pm and 4 pm each day and so appointments for
blood tests must be made to coincide with those
collections.
Antenatal Clinics
- The doctors carry out antenatal checks during
normal surgeries. The midwife visits regularly and
holds a fortnightly clinic. Please ask at reception
for details.
Post Natal
Care
- Postnatal checks are done at 8 weeks. An
appointment can be made at reception.
Family
Planning
- Consult the Doctor within normal surgery
appointments.
Child
Health Clinic
- This clinic runs twice a month on the first and
third Wednesday between 1.30 pm and 3.30 pm.
Diabetic
Clinic
- Diabetic clinics runs every two weeks
alternating between Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Well
Person Clinic
- The nurses carry out these checks but you can consult
the Doctor during normal surgery hours.
Cervical
Smears
- Smear tests are carried out by the Practice
Nurse by appointment.
Health
Promotion
- Our Practice Nurse carries out routine health checks. We
recommend blood pressure measurements for all adults
three yearly. Please enquire from reception.
Smoking
Cessation
- If you want help or advice in giving up smoking,
make an appointment with the Practice Nurse, Health
Visitor or Phlebotomist.
Asthma
Clinic
- Assessments are done during normal surgery times
by appointment.
Minor
Surgery
- Both doctors carry out minor surgical procedures at the
practice. Please ask the Doctor.
75+ Check
- Patients over 75 years may request an assessment
once a year while patients who are over 16 years and
up to 74 years may arrange a three-year check with
the Practice Nurse.
Travel
Clinics
Registration Appointments
- When joining the practice you will be asked to
book an appointment with the Practice Nurse to
review and plan your healthcare.
Private Medicals
- These are not covered by the NHS and so a charge
will be made for insurance company requests,
pre-employment checks, HGV/LGV certificates and
other medicals.
